Neil Warnock has insisted he won't take any action after being attacked by a Bristol City fan on the pitch last night.

The Crystal Palace boss was pounced on while on his way to the tunnel after his side's extra time defeat to the Robins last night, as the home fans swarmed on to the pitch to celebrate their victory and a forthcoming trip to Wembley.

A couple of fans threw punches at Warnock, who clapped the home fans for their support and chants towards the end, but he was unhurt.

When asked if he would take any action against the fan, he said, "No. You don't want to come off the pitch and be thumped by a yobbo or two. One young lad caught me but I wouldn't give him the satsifaction.

"I think one of the stewards trod on him as he fell to the floor which was nice, I heard him squeal.

"He needs his eyesight looking at because he was that close I don't know how he missed really. He just grazed me. But there's millions of people who would like to do that."
