Tom Soares should play some part in Crystal Palace's pre-season tour of Cornwall next week having missed the first three games through injury.

The 22-year-old has been struggling with a swollen knee but was expected to have an injection yesterday so he could join up with the rest of the squad having watched the last two friendlies from the stand with fans.

Manager Neil Warnock said: "He should be with us on Sunday. He had a slight swollen knee and has had a scan and we're going to inject it and let it settle for 48 hours.

"Hopefully he might be able to play Monday, if not Monday then Wednesday. He's coming down with us anyway."

Palace play Tavistock on Monday night, Bodmin Town on Wednesday and Truro City on Friday, with Paul Ifill and Ben Watson, unused substitutes against Aldershot, likely to feature as well.

Warnock said: "I didn't want to risk Ifill tonight as he's been a bit sore so I thought we would leave that.

"The same with Ben. I didn't really want to bring him on for half an hour as I didn't want him to get injured for half an hour so I would rather he start on Monday."
