ACORN Early Years Centre, Bexley Park, supported a campaign to raise money for The Meningitis Trust by taking part in a national toddle waddle.

The sponsored waddle, which took the children from the nursery to a local park, was open to under-fives and aimed to raise awareness of meningitis.

Acorn nursery decided to accept donations instead of sponsorship and raised £121.21 for the charity.

Claire Donnelly from the centre said: "There were about 45 children, 15 parents and 17 members of staff taking part and they all thoroughly enjoyed it."

In the week leading up to the event, the children had fun preparing for the waddle, making masks to wear on the day.
