Another bar has been shut down in Croydon.

The licence of Frankie’s Bar, on Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath, was revoked by a licensing committed held in Croydon Town Hall yesterday because of drug dealing and criminal and antisocial behaviour.

Croydon Council’s action followed a police raid on September 11, prompted by ongoing complaints of local residents, who referred to the area as a “living hell”.

Conservative parliamentary candidate Jason Hadden, who attended the licensing committee hearing, said: “We should be sending out a clear message that the community in Croydon will not condone such behaviour.”

In September, the E Bar in South End was closed and its licence was suspended after the stabbing death of Oliver Kingonzila while the CR0 Bar in High Street, Croydon, had its alcohol licence revoked by magistrates after incidents of serious crime.
