Police have provided a medical update after a motorcyclist was taken to hospital following a crash with a car in Croydon.

London Ambulance Service was called just before 4pm on Monday, April 29 to reports of the crash on Purley Way.

A number of resources were sent to the scene, including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, and an incident response officer alongside police.

The first paramedics arrived on scene in less than three minutes.

Two people were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, according to London Ambulance Service.

Police have said today that the motorcyclist who is in his 20s, in non-life-threatening condition.

The road was closed until around 7.30pm last night.

No arrests have been made and enquiries into the circumstances continue.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and ask that they are contacted via 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD5019/29Apr.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 16:00hrs on Monday, 29 April to reports of a car in collision with a motorcycle in Purley Way, Croydon.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. The motorcycle rider, a man aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment – his condition is not life threatening.

“Road closures were put in place while the incident was dealt with – these were lifted at around 19:30hrs.

“No arrests; enquiries continue.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 3.59pm today (April 29) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle on Purley Way, Croydon.

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, and an incident response officer.

"Our first paramedics arrived on scene in less than three minutes. We treated two patients at the scene before taking them to hospital."
